In this way, like with a video feed CCTV system, you will have the best possible view of your systems, to ensure that nothing bad happens." For this reason, Tenable believes it is vital to constantly monitor for vulnerabilities. While it certainly captures snapshots effectively, there is plenty of important information that you miss. "Today, scanning for threats on a daily or weekly basis is akin to using a Polaroid camera instead of video feed for your CCTV security. The rapid increase in these new systems has been compounded by fact that new threats have increased exponentially as well," says Gavin Millard, a Tenable director. "IT has changed massively in the last two decades, what with virtualisation and the cloud, on-demand IT and bring your own device, to name a few. Maxtec and Tenable suggest that continuous monitoring is the single best protection an organisation can have to safeguard network health. Maxtec is the sole South African distributor of a range of security solutions from Tenable, the leading vulnerability management vendor in the market. However, says Maxtec, a South African IT services provider specialising in security, storage and networking solutions, performing vulnerability scans on a semi-regular basis - whether monthly, weekly or even daily - is no longer enough. This has formed the blueprint for how vulnerability scanners have operated ever since. Nearly 20 years ago, the initial approach to vulnerability management and scanning was developed, whereby the IT department designated what network to scan, when the scan should take place and then collated the results via the study of the scan analytics. For this reason, it seems particularly unfortunate that many large enterprises remain stuck utilising an outdated approach to scanning, which leaves their organisations vulnerable, despite their best efforts. Vulnerability scanning is a cornerstone of IT security and has become a regulatory compliance standard today.

Towards the end, a gentleman came over and said here's your bill your tables up in a few minutes, we actually still had half hour left and again, he got a little flustered like, oh, yes sorry! When the bill came this was incorrect, they'd charged us twice for a item but he tried to argue the bill saying it added up! He finally realised it didn't and proceeded to get an amended bill. Expecting him to tell them the same as he told us, I watched to see that he found them a seat outside! I asked him as to why he could find them a seat and not us and he flustered and was eventually like, ok these seats are ok at the front - clearly they wasn't reserved for a party! The drinks are nice but strong! We only had chips so cant comment on the food. Moments later, he bought another party of 4 round to the sheltered section, to which they said the same as us. We asked if we could sit out the front as there were a few empty seats but he said he couldn't as they were for another party. He proceeded to take us round the back and to the part under a roof. It seemed a little chaotic and no real order! Finally someone came over to take us in. I went and spoke to lady at the front and told her we had a booking and she said someone would be with us shortly. We arrived and there was a mass of people waiting outside, we were unsure. SpamSieve 2.9.52 should automatically update the installed version of its Apple Mail plug-in, and the plug-in should stay enabled. We recommend updating SpamSieve before updating macOS. Added support for Apple Mail on the forthcoming macOS 13.3.SpamSieve supports AppleScript, so you can connect it to additional apps and fully integrate it into a custom workflow.Unlike server-based spam filtering services, your mail data stays on your own Mac, so your privacy is preserved. The corpus window and log let you see how each spam message was caught.Turn off new-mail notification in your e-mail program, and let SpamSieve notify you only when you receive non-spam messages.SpamSieve keeps track of how accurate it is, how many good and spam messages you receive, and how these numbers change over time. Optionally it can mark them all as spam, on the theory that legitimate senders do not try to obscure their messages. SpamSieve can decode and look inside these messages. Many spammers encode the contents of their messages so that filters cannot see the incriminating words they contain. Can use the Habeas Safelist, which indicates messages that are not spam, as well as the "ADV" subject tag indicating that a message is spam. The rules can match text in a variety of ways, including using regular expressions. You can customize the whitelist and blocklist, adding sophisticated rules that match various message headers, or the message body.Automatically maintains a whitelist to guarantee that messages from particular senders or mailing lists are never marked as spam, without cluttering your address book with these addresses.Automatically maintains a blocklist so that it can instantly adapt to spam messages sent from particular addresses, and catch 100% of them.Integrates with the macOS Contacts app (and also Eudora’s and Entourage’s address books) so that messages from friends and colleagues are never marked as spam.Colors show how spammy each message is, so you can quickly focus on the borderline ones if you want to check SpamSieve’s work.SpamSieve running on your Mac can keep the spam off your iPhone/iPad, and you can even train SpamSieve from afar. There is no extra charge for additional addresses or devices. SpamSieve works with any mail provider/host.Plus, you get the same great filtering if you ever switch e-mail programs or use more than one at a time. Integrates with your e-mail program for a superior user experience. Some other e-mail programs include Bayesian filters, but SpamSieve is more accurate. It adapts to the mail that you receive to get even better with time. Powerful Bayesian spam filtering results in high accuracy and almost no false positives. The following is a partial list of SpamSieve’s features, so that you can quickly see what it can do and how it’s unique: SpamSieve only marks spam in your email client so you never lose any mail. SpamSieve understands what your spam looks like in order to block it all, but also learns what your legitimate messages look like to avoid confusion. SpamSieve is a robust spam filter for major email clients that uses powerful Bayesian spam filtering. The SJX is unrivaled in utility, recreational use, payloads, and fuel economy in extreme shallow water conditions. The SJX is designed for strength-of-structure, performance, and functionality. Anyone can put all kinds of bells and whistles on a boat, but that doesn’t make it float any better, doesn’t make it perform any better. The quality of our boat builds just stand-alone compared to them. But put any of their boats next to our SJX and the choice is a no-brainer. The imitators may soon try to follow again. We have upgraded to the Indmar EcoBoost and are the only EcoBoost-powered aluminum tunnel hull available so far. When we introduced the first shallow water tunnel hull, we put the Mercury Sport Jet in it. Shallow water jet boats are a breed apart. A plane might be able to fly over, but good luck landing in the wild. Our boats simply go where no others can go. Whether you are a hunter, a fisherman, or an adventurist, you could quite possibly drive your SJX boat to places where nobody else has ever been. I have spent well over a decade minimizing those limitations and expanding those capabilities. I know its capabilities and its limitations. I am not only the owner of the company but am also an avid boater. That dedication comes from our passion as boaters. Well…thanks for the compliment, but the imitators cannot match our pride and dedication to quality and performance. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The sterndrive engine is heavier than a jet engine, and takes up more space in the boat. The primary reason is: Do you want the original or a dim copy? We invented the inboard tunnel hull and are still years ahead of the imitators.A jet drive is self-draining and does not require this step. The steering and trim use hydraulic systems that may require lubrication and maintenance, and in cold climates the engine should be “winterized” with an antifreeze solution to prevent the block from cracking in freezing weather. A sterndrive also requires more maintenance than a jet drive. The propeller can also be a hazard to swimmers behind the boat.Because it extends below the keel of the boat, the outdrive and its propeller are susceptible to damage if they impact the bottom or an obstruction in the water, like a rock or tree stump lurking just below the surface. The drive can also be trimmed-which changes the thrust angle of the prop-to help lift the boat on plane from a start and then to raise the bow at speed to achieve a smooth ride and reduce drag, improving top speed and efficiency. The outdrive has a rudder effect to help the boat track true at all speeds and propeller offers very efficient power transfer from the engine to the water.Because a jet drive does not have the rudder effect offered by a sterndrive it may not track as well at no-wake speeds and can be trickier to handle around a dock.Ī sterndrive system mates a V6 or V8 engine located inside the boat with a steerable outdrive and propeller attached to the boat transom (a sterndrive is also often called an inboard/outboard, or I/ O).Ĭommon Features & Advantages of Sterndrives.Locate boat dealers and find your boat at Boat Trader Sell Your Boat Find. Unlike a sterndrive the jet nozzle is not trimmable, so the boat’s running angle cannot be adjusted to accommodate changing passenger load or sea conditions, or to gain speed and efficiency. Find jet boats for sale in Pennsylvania, including boat prices, photos, and more. The pump intake can be clogged by weeds, and a stray ski rope or dock line can be drawn into the pump and get tangled inside. The compact four-cylinder engine that powers most jet drive systems takes up less space in the boat and is also lighter than a sterndrive engine, which can make the boat easier to tow on a trailer.Ī jet drive system does have some disadvantages. Also, because the jet drive impeller is contained within the pump, there’s no propeller to pose a danger when swimming around the transom of the boat.Because the entire jet drive system is located within the hull, a jet boat has minimal draft and can operate in very shallow water-there’s no propeller or outdrive that could be damaged by hitting bottom.A diverter (called the reverse bucket) drops over the jet nozzle to create reverse thrust. The boat is steered by a movable nozzle that aims the stream of water left or right.Jet boats may have one or two engines and jet pumps. The pump draws water from an intake in the bottom of the boat and shoots a high-velocity stream of water from a nozzle at the back of the boat to propel it forward.Ĭommon Features & Advantages of Jet Boats Jet-powered boats use the same propulsion system used in personal watercrafts (PWCs) that mates an inboard engine to a jet pump. I also found that the obsequious placement of monuments in-game to Kickstarter backers pulled me completely out of the immersion of the world the game was trying to build. I enjoyed Thora's story, but 20 minutes of total narrative isn't worth the 3-to-4 hours of actual uninspired gameplay that neither assists the story nor could stand on it's own. I didn't find the game to be difficult, but the game was clearly designed to tell a visual story, yet the combat feels ham-fisted and just isn't very good. Sluggish controls, obtuse hit boxes, and broken geometry do not send themselves well to the combat driven levels or bosses. The narrative does a nice job of balancing Thora's personal story with more overarching Norse myths, which I found to be refreshing. No newspaper wanted to publish this image. How important is that one image within the series you made in the battle? You said to me once that you are never neutral, and you don’t believe those who claim to be… What did you want this image to say about the battle, or indeed the wider war? One image that became very widely known from the series is that of bodies being thrown from a rooftop by Marines. Despite unlimited technical means, once on the ground, in the middle of a hostile city, fear is the same for all men. Such a display of force is very impressive, the dull roll of artillery, then the silence, the shots in the night, soldiers waking up screaming, thinking themselves under attack. I have been working in Iraq since 2003, but it was the first time I had the opportunity to be embedded with US forces. Specifically, talking about Fallujah, Operation Phantom Fury was the first major military offensive I had witnessed that closely. To put it more simply, I am fascinated by propaganda, and wars are moments in history when propaganda is at its strongest and most obvious. Being present for major events, I can witness at the same time “ le champs et le contre champ” of ongoing history. I am more interested in the understanding of history and by the gap between events and the way they are depicted in the media, that storytelling. I was comparing my experience of conflicts with photographers who were embedded for months on the front line during World War II, for example. You have said previously that you don’t consider yourself a ‘war photographer’, that you don’t spend enough time in conflict zones to really experience war in the way some do… This time in Fallujah must have been very intense – how does it fit into or reflect that view?Įven though I have been in dozens of conflict areas in the past 15 years, I do not consider myself a “war photographer”. Warning: The following article contains graphic images which some readers may find upsetting. Here, on the 15 th anniversary of the battle’s start, the photographer discusses the work he made over that week, his changing feelings about the men he was photographing, and one particular image which represents “the culmination of contempt and dehumanization” that grows in those at war. Jérôme Sessini was in Fallujah embedded with US Marines of Charlie Company, at work in the north eastern sector of the city for one week. The fighting in the city has since been recognized by many as the most intense urban warfare since the battle of Huế city during the Vietnam War. The US-led effort against insurgents in the city was code-named Operation Phantom Fury, and marked the first instance of Coalition military action against a purely insurgent force, since the toppling of the Ba-athist government in 2003. The Second Battle of Fallujah started on November 7, 2004, and lasted one and a half months – ending just before Christmas Eve. It is speculative to extrapolate, but there is also no evidence that it is tapering off. One major danger is phthalates, Swan said, which, according to the CDC, are, “a group of chemicals used to make plastics more durable. Whilst NMO was initially defined by the occurrence of longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis (LETM) and optic neuritis, the development of more specific assays, particularly cell-based assays (CBAs) with transfected HEK-293 cells expressing AQP4 ( 4), led to the realization that the spectrum of disorders associated with AQP4-IgG was broader than previously thought, encompassing limited forms of the disease (e.g., isolated optic neuritis or isolated myelitis), and also brain and brainstem involvement (previously regarded as an exclusion criteria for NMO). The discovery of AQP4-IgG led to the evidence that (1) NMO with positivity for AQP4-IgG is a predominantly an astrocytopathy, and (2) AQP4-IgG is both the pathogenetic cause and the biomarker that defines a distinct disorder which differs from MS. AQP4 is highly expressed in the foot processes of astrocytes, particularly in the domains that interacts with dystrophin-associated proteins and microvessels. The putative agent of NMO, aquaporin-4 antibodies (AQP4-IgG), was subsequently found to bind the AQP4 water channel ( 3). ( 2), that sera from patients with NMO outlined microvessels, pia, subpia, and Virchow-Robin spaces when tested on tissue-based indirect immunofluorescence. A major landmark in NMO history was the discovery, by Lennon et al. From Devic's first report until 2004, NMO remained an elusive condition that many thought was a monophasic, more aggressive variant of multiple sclerosis (MS). The term neuromyelitis optica (NMO) was first used in 1894 by Devic and his fellow, Fernand Gault, to propose a distinct disease entity characterized by simultaneous myelitis and bilateral optic neuritis ( 1). The aim of this review is to summarize current evidence regarding the role of emerging diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers in patients with NMOSD and MOGAD. These include antibody titers, cytokine profiles, complement factors, and markers of neuronal (e.g., neurofilament light chain) or astroglial (e.g., glial fibrillary acidic protein) damage. In this context, a number of serum and/or cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers are emerging as potentially useful in clinical practice for diagnostic and treatment purposes. Whilst major advances have been made in the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions, biomarkers that could help predict the risk of relapses, disease activity, and prognosis are still lacking. Despite important refinements in the accuracy of AQP4-IgG and MOG-IgG testing assays, a small proportion of patients with NMOSD still remain negative for both antibodies and are called “seronegative” NMOSD. More recently, antibodies against myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG-IgG), have been found to be a biomarker of a different entity, termed MOG antibody-associated disease (MOGAD), which has overlapping, but different pathogenesis, clinical features, treatment response, and prognosis when compared to AQP4-IgG-positive NMOSD. About 80% of patients harbor antibodies directed against the water channel aquaporin-4 (AQP4-IgG), expressed on astrocytes, which was found to be both a biomarker and a pathogenic cause of NMOSD. The term neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) describes a group of clinical-MRI syndromes characterized by longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis, optic neuritis, brainstem dysfunction and/or, less commonly, encephalopathy. 5Departments of Ophthalmology and Neurology, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, Rochester, MN, United States.4Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, Rochester, MN, United States.3Department of Neurology, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, Rochester, MN, United States.2Department of Medical, Surgical and Experimental Sciences, University of Sassari, Sassari, Italy.1Neurology Unit, Department of Neuroscience, Biomedicine and Movement Sciences, University of Verona, Verona, Italy.Flanagan 3,4 Sergio Ferrari 1 Paolo Solla 2 Sara Mariotto 1 * John J. |
